Tennis-4-everyone
Tennis-4-Everyone, Inc. (T4E) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2001 that provides the following free services to our local youth: year-round tennis instruction and academic tutoring throughout the school year. Since 2001, children attending summer camps at community centers in the greater Pensacola area have received free tennis instruction. In 2022, Tennis-4-Everyone was awarded the USTA Florida Member Organization of the Year.
T4E coaches and volunteers utilize the United States Tennis Association’s Net Generation curriculum. The lighter racquets and low compression balls assist in learning proper technique and help guarantee success. Children learn to love the sport of tennis – a healthy hobby
that can be enjoyed for a lifetime! Recent studies have shown that tennis is the world's
healthiest sport, adding 9.7 years to lives.
Benefits of tennis:
- Promotes teamwork and sportsmanship
- Improves coordination, agility, and balance
- Develops strategic thinking and problem solving
- Cultivates social skills and deepens self-confidence
Tennis-4-Everyone volunteer tutors and mentors work throughout the school year with kids in community center after-school programs. Assistance with daily homework, studying and remedial practice is provided. Each year, T4E introduces over 1,000 children to the fun and healthy sport of tennis. Studies have shown that kids who participate in sports are less likely to turn to unhealthy and dangerous alternatives in their teen years.
Each summer, Tennis-4-Everyone volunteers assist with Racquet Round Up,
reaching over 500 children from the local community. T4E volunteers also assist with
Autism Pensacola Summer Camp for youth and adults and Royal Family Kids Camp.
Currently, T4E has programming during the school year at E.S. Cobb, Fricker, and Woodland Heights Community Centers, and the T4E Tennis Complex at Oakcrest Elementary.
Tennis-4-Everyone also provides instruction for Special Olympics athletes, coaching athletes through local, regional, and state games.
In 2025 T4E has plans to initiate a wheelchair tennis program in the Pensacola area.
